1. Who we are
Stripe AI ("we", "us", "our") provides a mobile and web application for golfers, including AI caddie tips, green-reading tools, scorecards, and related features. You can contact us at tobygleave@stripeai.co.uk.
2. What we collect
- Account data: email address, password (stored hashed), and any sign-in identifiers from Apple or Google when used.
- Profile data: display name, handicap, home club, tee preference, dominant hand, preferred units, and putts per round.
- App usage: rounds played, scores entered, courses viewed, AI caddie requests, and crash / diagnostic logs.
- Location: with your permission, your device's GPS to show distances to greens and hazards. Location is processed only while the relevant feature is in use.
- Camera & sensors: with your permission, the camera and LiDAR depth sensor to read greens on supported devices. Depth data is processed on-device and not uploaded.
- Purchase data: when you buy a subscription or one-time purchase, the App Store, Google Play, or our payment processor sends us a transaction receipt — never your full card details.
3. How we use it
- To run the app's features (distances, AI tips, scorekeeping, profile).
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To process purchases, manage subscriptions and refunds.
- To improve the product through aggregated, de-identified analytics.
- To contact you about service changes, security issues, or support requests.
4. Legal bases
We rely on contract performance (to deliver the app you signed up for), legitimate interests (to keep the service safe and improve it), consent (for optional sensors like location and camera), and legal obligations (tax, fraud prevention).
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with:
- Infrastructure providers that host the backend (database, auth, edge functions).
- AI providers we use to generate caddie tips. Only the minimum context (hole geometry, weather, your tee selection) is sent — never your name, email, or location history.
- Payment processors and app stores to handle billing, refunds, and chargebacks.
- Authorities when legally required.
6. Retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (see Section 9), data is removed within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records for tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes (typically up to 7 years for purchase receipts).
7. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption at rest, hashed passwords, row-level security on the database, and least-privilege access for our team. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever suffer a breach affecting you, we will notify you without undue delay.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of your data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Port your data to another service.
- Withdraw consent for optional sensors at any time.

9. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. Deletion is scheduled for 30 days; signing in within that window cancels it. After 30 days, your profile, rounds, and personal data are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
10. Children
Stripe AI is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 7 days before they take effect.
